I’m a wee kiwi bird, who, against all scientific odds, flew the coop to London.

My name is Sarsha Drakeford, and I’m an art director from New Zealand, currently based in London. I like big questions and impossible answers. At the end of the day, I just want to make things that would make me jealous.

I’ve been working in the top creative agency in New Zealand for the past 8 years (well Campaign Brief, Effies and AWARD seem to think so anyway), which means I’ve worked on some pretty amazing clients including McDonald’s, Volkswagen, Vodafone, Samsung, Coca-cola, SKY Television, Westpac Bank, Steinlager, The Warehouse, and New World. I've also picked up some pretty bling (check out my awards page here), a New Blood pencil, been a Cannes Young Lion, won Axis emerging talent, been sent to LIA CreativeLIAsons and won various Lions, Spikes, Clios, Webbies, a Facebook Award. Recently I was lucky enough to be named one of One Club’s Top 10 NEXT Creative Leaders for 2021.

I mentor both junior creatives within DDB, as well as students through Media Design School and AWARD. I was a founding member of DDB’s Cultural Committee (although I didn’t choose that name), and have since started a graduate program with diversity at it’s core.

A bit about non-work Sarsha:

I am a qualified A.B.A. Therapist who specialised in helping children with severe Autism.

A long, long, long time ago I was New Zealand’s national ballroom dancing champion. I still dance, but I don’t compete anymore.

Massive video game nerd. A lot of vintage games - I still own my childhood PS1 and beloved Gameboy colour.

I always have some art project or illustration job on the go. Most recently it’s been creating a bespoke poker card deck for my wedding.
